Sora had helped fill in part of his heart since Ventus only had half a heart. With that being said, Roxas prepares to fight the outmatched Xemnas, only for the latter to take out both Sora and Kairi to even the field. Where had the time gone? Roxas and Xemnas talked along the bank of the Dark Realm, the Dark Margin. He then moves his memories and feelings into Sora and vanishes, leaving a more aggressive and confused Sora alone in the Dark City. Another difference with Sora is their heroic status. They both smile and look up to the sky while uttering Sora's name with a sense of renewed hope.
Sora takes on the appearance of Roxas, remembering his data friends. A decent half of Ven’s parchment was filled with absolutely illegible scribbles and puddles of ink, and he was still going, writing line after line of scribble after scribble. Finally, Roxas and Naminé believe that as long as Sora and Kairi are together, they will be also, and accept their place within Sora and Kairi after being promised by their counterparts that they would always be together. The hints of Roxas's presence within Sora come to a climax in the World That Never Was.
